Jennifer L. Bonheur, M.D.
Jennifer Bonheur, MD is an accomplished gastroenterologist who believes that a strong patient-doctor relationship is the foundation for high-quality medical care. Dedicated to her work, Dr. Bonheur’s practice encompasses all aspects of gastroenterology and endoscopy.
Dr. Bonheur graduated with honors from New York University satisfying both her pre-medical requirements and receiving a degree in political science. While in college, she also chose to further her years of musical training and studied classical piano at the Juilliard School.
She went on to receive her medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship training at Lenox Hill Hospital. During this time, she received the Department of Medicine Award for Academic Excellence and was selected to serve as Chief Medical Resident. Board certified in gastroenterology, Dr. Bonheur is a Clinical Instructor at NYU School of Medicine and an attending gastroenterologist at both NYU Langone Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. Bonheur has published original research articles relating to the practice of gastroenterology and has authored numerous publications including several chapters for the on-line series at www.emedicine.com.
She is committed to living a healthy lifestyle and believes that balance is key. Outside of medicine, she enjoys music, writing, days in the park, appreciates a good sense of humor and, most of all, loves spending time with her husband, three children and dog, Cosmo.
